Representing landowners and developers, we assist clients with a wide variety of land-use matters. In particular, we help clients obtain development entitlements and permits from local or territorial governments and agencies, as well as from federal and state governmental entities, both in Florida and in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We have represented developers of master planned communities, affordable housing, hotels and resorts, mixed-use urban redevelopment projects, landfills, renewable energy projects and multi-family developments, negotiating development agreements, obtaining zoning approvals, and implementing demolition and reconstruction of multiple large inner-city brownfield sites.
Our success comes from our experience in working on these issues, our knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, and our relationships with regulators and other policy and decision makers.
Tied to this work, we have significant experience in working through issues related to environmental concerns, including obtaining Federal, State and local coastal zone management, wetland, endangered species and environmental resource permits, negotiating brownfield rehabilitation agreements and resolving environmental enforcement actions.
Our involvement doesn’t stop at the permitting stage. We take developers from due diligence to acquisition and permitting, and then through construction and operation.
In this economic environment, we are seeing more and more deals happen with a combination of various forms of financing, both public and private. We have gained significant experience in such deals, working to help facilitate an efficient process, often by combining various financing vehicles into single transactions.
